Crocker named conference rookie of the week
University of Maine at Farmington women’s track and field freshman Morgan Crocker of Boothbay was tabbed as the North Atlantic Conference Women’s Track and Field Rookie of the Week on Monday.
Crocker competed in four events at the Jim Sheehan Invitational held at Fitchburg State. She placed first, UMF's first-ever athlete to win an event in program history, in the triple jump with a distance of 10.13m, good for a top-15 ranking in New England.
The rookie also took sixth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 18.19, fourth in the 400m hurdles in 1:17.95, and third in the long jump with a distance of 4.56m. The Beavers placed fourth in the team standings out of 17 teams and first among all NAC schools.
