Boothbay shuts out Hall-Dale
The Boothbay Region High School field hockey team got back to winning in a big way Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 5, shutting out the visiting Hall-Dale Bulldogs, 6–0, at Perkins Field, BRHS.
Boothbay (6-5-1) dominated the game as the Bulldogs (1-11) had only three shots on goal.
The Seahawks got two first half goals. Sydney Meader scored the first of her three goals on the game with 25:59 remaining in the 30-minute half. Lexi Lane scored Boothbay’s second first-half goal at 14:00, on an assist from Chloe Arsenault.
About six and a half minutes expired in the second half when Boothbay put the game away with three goals in just over one minute. Nicole Clarke scored the first second-half goal at the 23:22 mark, followed by two goals by Meader at 22:58 and 22:20. The Seahawks’ final goal of the game was scored at 19:58 by Arsenault on an assist from Meader. From there, Seahawk coach Donna Jordan began substituting from the bench.
Boothbay led in penalty corners, 10-7.
Boothbay, currently in fourth place in Class C North, will travel to Rumford on Friday to face Mountain Valley (4-8), a team the Seahawks defeated at home, 4-2, on Sept. 16. The team’s final regular season game is at home on Oct. 12 against Telstar at 3:30 p.m.
