Boothbay gets easy win over Telstar
The seniors on the Boothbay Region High School field hockey team were honored before Wednesday’s game at Perkins Field — their final home game — and they will probably remember the score in the years to come, as the Seahawks easily defeated the winless Telstar Rebels, 9-0.
Wednesday’s game was also the final regular season game for both teams as the Class C North playoffs start next week.
Leading the charge were junior Sydney Meader with three goals, freshman Chloe Arsenault with two goals and three assists, and sophomore Lexi Lane with two goals. Junior Page Brown and freshman Maddie Faulkingham also scored for Boothbay, which improved to 8-5-1. Also credited with assists were junior Lilly Sherburne and senior Molly Thibault.
As of Thursday morning, the Seahawks were in fifth place in Class C North. If the Heal points hold, Boothbay will travel to East Corinth to take on Central High School for a quarterfinal tournament game, to be announced.
Seniors honored on Wednesday were co-captains Nicole Clarke and Alexis Welch, Erica Eames, Molly Thibault, Elisabeth Wright and Madison Stahle.
