Seahawks pick up important win
Sophomore guard Steve Reny came off the bench to score 13 points, leading the Seahawks to an upset win over the visiting Madison Bulldogs (13-2) Wednesday night, Jan. 25.
Boothbay capitalized on Madison’s cold shooting and the Seahawks hit the boards on both ends to secure their eighth victory (8-6) and an important victory to pick up some needed Heal points. As of Wednesday evening, the Seahawks moved into sixth place.
Senior forward Carter Babcock added 12 points and senior forward Eli Gudroe scored eight.
Leading scorers for Madison were Evan Bess and Mitch Jarvais with 11 points each.
In the teams’ first meeting at Madison, the Bulldogs pulled out a 58-50 win.
The Seahawks travel to Winthrop, the top seed in Class C South, on Friday, Jan. 27.
