Seahawks dominate Rebels, 11-0
The Boothbay Region High School field hockey team was in complete control in its 11-0, season-opening win over the visiting Telstar Rebels (0-2) at Perkins Field Friday, Sept.1.
The Seahawks had 45 shots on goal while the Rebels never got the ball near the scoring half-circle. Boothbay also had 24 penalty corners, scoring off of one of them. The Seahawks led at halftime 7-0.
Leading the charge for Boothbay (1-0) was senior Sydney Meader with three goals and two assists. Freshman Kylie Brown scored three second-half goals and had a first-half assist. Sophomore Chloe Arsenault had two goals and an assist. Junior Riley Sullivan added the other two goals. Also credited with an assist was senior Kylie Michael.
Despite the lopsided score, Telstar goalie Penny Morton made 34 saves.
Boothbay is scheduled to play at Mountain Valley on Monday, Sept. 4 at 4 p.m. and host Spruce Mountain on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 4 p.m.
