Eileen King, flanked by three Boothbay Region High School seniors, Nick Simpson, Page Brown and Sydney Meader, holds some gifts bestowed upon her during a brief school assembly held in her honor on Wednesday, Dec. 20. King, who has served 24 years in the school system as Boothbay Region Elementary School principal and Superintendent of Schools and is now moving on to another job, was given some flowers and a pullover with the number 24 (her years here) with her name and “Seahawk for Life” sewn on the sleeve. She was also presented with a plaque made from the old gym bleachers that was given by Larry Brown and presented by the three students. Brown wrote up a very nice speech for Eileen, according to BRHS Athletic Director Allan Crocker. King’s last day is Dec. 31 and she will then become the new executive director of the Maine State Superintendents Association. Courtesy of Dick Morrison

Facilitator Judy Enright leads a small group of administrators and school committee members through an example of a community engagement “vision cafe,” tentatively scheduled for April or early May.
