Lady Seahawks head into season’s second half at 9-0
The undefeated (9-0) Boothbay Region High School girls varsity basketball team goes into the second half of the season ranked third in the current Heal point standings in Class C South.
The Seahawks won three games this week and they weren’t tested in any of them. On Tuesday, they defeated the Hall-Dale Bulldogs, 67-32, at Porter Memorial Gymnasium.
Boothbay was led by the team’s top three scorers – Page Brown scored 18, Faith Blethen had 17 and Glory Blethen added 11.
Hall-Dale fell to 2-7 with the loss.
On Friday at Carrabec, the Seahawks crushed the Cobras, 73-27.
Page Brown had a big night, pouring in 29 points while Faith and Glory Blethen added 12 and 13 points, respectively.
Carrabec fell to 2-5 on the season.
On Wednesday, Jan. 3, Page Brown scored 16 and Chloe Arsenault added 14 as the Seahawks easily defeated the winless Wiscasset Wolverines, 58-25, at BRHS. The Blethen sisters, Glory and Faith, added eight and seven points respectively.
Boothbay jumped out to a 21-6 first quarter lead and led by 30 at the half, 38-8.
Grace Webber led Wiscasset with 11 points.
Boothbay will travel to Madison Thursday night, Jan. 11 to take on the only other undefeated team in Class C South, the 9-0 Madison Bulldogs.
