July 3 update: Knox County, again, records a 25th COVID-19 case
AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, July 3, of COVID-19 cases in the state of Maine.
There have been more than 3,300 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 across the state since outbreak began in March.

Average age of Maine’s COVID-19 patients falls since pandemic’s start
AUGUSTA — The average age of individuals in Maine testing positive for COVID-19 has fallen since the beginning of the pandemic, according to Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah.
At the outset of the pandemic, the mean age was 55.2 years old while the median age was 56.7 years old.
Those figures have now fallen to 46.9 years old for the mean and 47.2 years old for the median.

Governor to sign Executive Order requiring coastal businesses enforce State’s face covering mandate
AUGUSTA — Governor Janet Mills announced Wednesday intentions to sign an Executive Order requiring Maine’s large retail stores, lodging establishments, restaurants, and outdoor bars and tasting rooms in the coastal counties of Hancock, Waldo, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Cumberland, and York, and in the more populous cities of Bangor and Brewer and Lewiston and Auburn, to enforce the State’s face covering mandate.

Mandy Boucher’s wild journey home from Vietnam
Edgecomb native Mandy Boucher returned home from Hanoi, Vietnam March 28 after just over two years of teaching English as a new language. IRS outlines solutions for individuals to pay federal income taxes amid pandemic
WASHINGTON, D.C. ― The Department of the Treasury and IRS announced Monday the tax filing and payment deadline of July 15 will not be postponed.
Individual taxpayers unable to meet the July 15 due date, however, can request an automatic extension of time to file until Oct. 15.
Due to COVID-19, the original filing deadline and tax payment due date for 2019 was postponed from April 15 to July 15.

AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has announced, June 29, an additional COVID-19 death in the state, bringing the state’s COVID-19 death toll to 105.
The individual was a female resident of Kennebec County.
