May 4 update: Lincoln County individual recovers from COVID-19
AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, May 4, of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state of Maine.
Today, there are 1,205 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases across the state, including 1,136 confirmed cases and 69 probable cases.
Across the state, 720 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 57 people have passed. The number of people hospitalized, at some point during their illness, across the state stands at 186.

Strawberry festival canceled
The last Saturday in June has for the last 67 years been the traditional day in Wiscasset for huge and delicious strawberry shortcakes, dipped berries, strawberry ice cream, and fresh-picked berries to buy. It has been a cheery, family-friendly event that has long signaled the start of the summer season in Midcoast Maine.

American Legion cancels Memorial Day parade
David Patch, commander of American Legion Post 36, has announced that the annual Memorial Day Parade, with ceremonies held Southport, Boothbay Harbor and Boothbay, has been canceled.

2020 Boothbay Harbor lobster boat races canceled
Event organizer Ashlee Lowery announced Sunday, May 3 that the 35th annual Charles Begin Memorial Boothbay Harbor Lobster Boat Races, scheduled for June 20, will be canceled this year, in conjunction with many other local events, due to the recent pandemic.

UPDATED: COVID-19 deaths in Maine rise to 57
AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has announced, May 3, an additional COVID-19 death in the state, bringing the state’s COVID-19 death toll to 57.
The individual was a resident of Cumberland County, and, according to WGME, was a man in his 90s.
