Open house at CTL March 8

Mon, 03/02/2020 - 1:00pm

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), a K-8 independent school in Edgecomb, will hold an open house on Sunday, March 8, from 3:30 - 5 p.m. All members of the Midcoast community are cordially invited to tour the school, meet the faculty, and ask questions about the program.

CTL opened its doors on Cross Point Road in 1990. The school is accredited through the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and has state and federal tax-exempt status as a non-profit organization.  Tuition is significantly less than that of other area independent schools, and generous tuition assistance is available. CTL serves up to 80 children in five groupings:  K, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8.

CTL is an award-winning school with a faculty famous for great teaching.  The program is challenging and interesting, the building is beautiful and inviting, and the students are motivated and high achieving.

CTL’s graduates are successful at all kinds of high schools, from Lincoln Academy, Boothbay, and Brunswick; to Waynflete and North Yarmouth Academy; to Phillips Exeter, Phillips Andover, St. Paul’s, Concord Academy, and Walnut Hill.

CTL is also a demonstration school, training teachers from across the United States through a combination of internships, seminars, published writing by the faculty, and professional DVDs.  CTL’s philosophy and methods invite other educators to look with new eyes at what is possible for their schools and students.

For parents who wish to visit CTL at another time, please contact Katy Inman, head of school, to schedule a day to attend our all-school morning meeting, 8:30-8:50 a.m. at katyctlkto8@gmail.com or 882-9706.  For more information, visit the school’s website at http://www.c-t-l.org or Facebook page (facebook.com/CTLKto8).
