Public invited to forum on extending water/sewer on Barters Island Road
Community partners, including the Boothbay Harbor Sewer District, Boothbay Region Water District, Boothbay Region YMCA, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and the Town of Boothbay, invite the public to a community discussion about extending public water and sewer utility down Barters Island Road. This discussion will take place at the Boothbay Town Office on Thursday, June 20 at 6 p.m.
Currently, the effort involves extending year-round public drinking water and sewer services along Barters Island Road from Townsend Avenue to Knickerbocker Road in Boothbay, a community project that will provide many benefits to residents, businesses, and visitors. The project is in the investigation stage with field work, including surveys and ledge profile this summer, followed by design later this summer. This project focuses on improving public infrastructure and addressing water quality issues with the goals of enhancing community well-being and fostering economic development. By extending year-round public drinking water and sewer services, the project aims to provide safe reliable year-round water, eliminate on-site wastewater disposal, and to protect water quality in the community.
We invite members of the community to join us to get more information. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
