Learn about the benefits of joining Boothbay Region Garden Club
Come and join us at our next meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 1 p.m. at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church, 32 Emery Lane, Boothbay Harbor and learn about your local garden club and the great work we do in the local community. Garden clubs have a long and storied history in the state of Maine and the Boothbay Region chapter has been around for almost 100 years (since 1931).
The mission of our Club is to promote interest in the art and practice of gardening, horticultural education and the beautification of the Boothbay region. We serve the Boothbay peninsula and the surrounding area through gardening projects, programs, education and scholarships—fostering deep friendships through working together to make a difference in our environment.
We also have a lot of fun.
At our October meeting, our officers and selected Committee chairpersons will briefly present the benefits the Club brings to our local community and describe the different ways locals – both full time and seasonal – can get involved and make a contribution. Perhaps you will want to join our Garden Therapy Committee which plans much appreciated activities for the residents of St. Andrews Village; or our Program Committee which determines the speakers who will present at our monthly meetings. We are always looking for volunteers to help plan and execute our “The Sea Around Us” Home and Garden Tour and our annual Holiday Festival and Winter Market.
Feel free to join us at 12:30 for delicious homemade soups and snacks! The meeting will start at 1. See you there!
