Boothbay region joins North Carolina relief efforts
Students from Boothbay Region High School will be working to help load the relief trailer to Western North Carolina by staging a drive thru drop off at the front of the high school on Saturday, Oct. 12 (mini Seahawks have a game so we will utilize the drive around) and the lower lot on Sunday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. Aid such as baby needs, non-perishable food items, water, blankets, sleeping bags, and cash donations that will be converted to those needs will be accepted gratefully. Items will be moved to Pinkham’s Market to sort, inventory, and place on pallets. Volunteers will be needed next week for this endeavor and updates will follow.
The community of the Boothbay Region has once again proven that there isn’t anything we can’t get done if we are determined enough to do it. RCMoore Trucking of Scarborough was contacted and were all on board with the transport of donated relief items for the Western North Carolina hurricane victims. The ball got rolling Wednesday and has snowballed into what can only be described as an amazing grassroots effort to supply those most effected with life saving supplies.
