The Dirigo Cougars utilized their team speed and ball-handling skills to shut out the Boothbay Region Seahawks, 4-0, at Perkins Field, BRHS on Friday, Oct. 11.
The Cougars won their sixth straight game and improved to 9-2 on the season. Dirigo is seeded third in Class C North.
The Seahawks, who had won two straight going into the game, dropped to 4-6 on the season and are seeded sixth in Class C South.
Alyssa Ellis scored Dirigo's first two goals, one in the first quarter and one just 21 seconds into the third quarter. Mackenzie Woods added a goal in the third quarter and Lana Waite connected on a penalty stroke in the fourth quarter to complete the scoring.
Dirigo had 11 penalty corners while Boothbay had three.
