The Boothbay Region Lions Club met for a regular business meeting on Feb. 10.  We enjoyed a delicious meal of macaroni and cheese and salad prepared and served by Lion Duane. 

We authorized donations to The Community Center and the Boothbay Sea and Science Center.

Our Zone Chair Lion Karen reported that the annual District 41 Convention has been cancelled again this year due to COVID restrictions.  Also our next cabinet meeting scheduled for Feb. 21 will be held via Zoom. 

The Boothbay Lions presented 398 cans of soup (plus other items) to the Boothbay Region Food Pantry for the District 41 January “Souper Bowl.”  Our club came in fourth out of 10 clubs participating. 

We will be holding the Peace Poster contest this year for students at the high school.  More details and instructions will be forthcoming in the following months.

We continue to discuss fundraising and community service projects for this year, but there are a lot of questions about how the COVID-19 pandemic will affect our efforts.  We will, however, continue to meet in person following Maine CDC guidelines.
