The Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library is thrilled to have Bonnie and Ron Ginger of Boothbay as our 2015/16 Annual Appeal Fund Chairpersons.

After vacationing for years throughout Maine, Bonnie and Ron bought property in Boothbay in 1981. Bonnie is a master gardener and Ron is an expert sailor, so the Boothbay area was a natural for them. They built their house over a number of years while summer folks, until Ron's retirement in 2002, when they moved here permanently and began the renovations to make it an all year home.

Bonnie worked at the Framingham Public Library in Massachusetts for 25 years.

“One of the first things I did upon arrival in Boothbay was to visit the library and ask if they needed a trained volunteer. They said yes, and I have been doing it ever since! I cherish the library for all that it gives to the community, for people of all ages and interests. Ron and I are both voracious readers and for me, being in two book groups, I rely on the library for my reading materials and love that I have access to so much through the Minerva Library System, which the library is a member of.

"We are thrilled to be this year’s Annual Appeal Chair because it gives us the opportunity to emphasize our belief that a healthy and vibrant community includes a public library. From the wonderful collection of books, audiobooks and movies to programs for all ages, the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library is a treasure for our community. When this year’s Annual Appeal letter arrives in your mailbox please consider participating by sending in a donation. Any amount, small or large, will help keep this special community resource alive and well. We all benefit!”
