Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: 3 arrests

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 370 calls for service for the period of June 18 to June 25. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 6,120 calls for service.

Summonses

Percys A. Nickles, 41, of Jefferson was issued a summons June 18 for Operating while License is Suspended or Revoked and Violating Condition of Release, on Biscay Road, Bremen, by Deputy Samuel Alexander.

Heidi A. Towle, 29, of Dresden was issued a summons June 21 for Violating Condition of Release, on Alexander Road, Dresden, by Sgt. Scott Hayden.

Arrests

Zachary Lear, 25, of Belfast was arrested June 19 for Violating Condition of Release and Attaching False Plates, on Route 1, Newcastle, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.

Cody L. Beal, 30, of Westport Island was arrested June 20 for Domestic Violence Assault, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Sgt. Scott Hayden, on behalf of Deputy Jerold Winslow, after an incident, which occurred on Westport Island.

Allen Teele, 54, of Waldoboro was arrested June 23 for Terrorizing, on Nobleboro Road, Bremen, by Sgt. Kevin Dennison.

Accidents

On June 18, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Jefferson involving Robert K. Lee, 50, of Newcastle; Anthony J. Abbott, 17, of Washington and Linda J. Cunningham, 74, of Jefferson. Mr. Lee’s vehicle, a 2002 Volvo dump truck loaded with medium sized rocks, was traveling westbound on Route 32, near Le Barn. The tailgate to his truck was not properly secured and rocks began falling out of the back. Mr. Abbott’s 2003 GMC Sierra was traveling eastbound and was followed by Ms. Cunningham’s 2020 Subaru Outback. The rocks from the dump truck struck the front end of Abbott’s vehicle, causing damage and the rocks struck the driver’s side of Cunningham’s vehicle, causing damage. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.

On June 19, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Cameron O. Lewis, 16, of Boothbay and Cameron Alley, 24, of Boothbay. Mr. Alley was operating his 2021 Nissan NV southbound and slowed abruptly in traffic for a vehicle entering the southbound lane from T & D Variety. Mr. Lewis was traveling behind Alley’s vehicle in his 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and failed to slow down. As a result, he swerved to the left and struck Alley’s vehicle. Sgt. Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On June 19, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Karen K. Landry, 64, of Boothbay and Gavin P. Kane, 64, of Wilton. Ms. Landry was preparing to turn right out of a parking lot in her 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Mr. Gavin was backing his 2019 Dodge Charger up in the same parking lot to adjust the vehicle’s position when he backed into Landry’s vehicle. Deputy Ethan Burns was the investigating officer.

On June 19, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Peter W. Drum, 50, of Bristol and Marilyn S. Church, 70, of The Villages, Florida. Ms. Church was operating her 2019 Jeep northbound and slowing in traffic, due to road construction taking place with a flagger present. Mr. Drum was operating his 2011 Mercedes-Benz behind Church’s vehicle and stated he was looking back at a vehicle approaching from behind and did not see Church stopping. As a result, he was unable to avoid striking Church’s vehicle in the rear. Sgt. Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
