Sheyenne Upham crowned Royal Windjammer

    Sheyenne Upham, 11, was crowned 2024 Royal Windjammer among the six contestants in the Boothbay’s Got Talent pageant held at Boothbay Region YMCA Sunday, June 23.

    Upham performed a modern dance routine to music provided by Emile Mirabile, director of the pageant – one of the first events of the 62nd annual Windjammer Days.

    Sheyenne is the daughter of Jessica and Nick Upham.

    Other contestants included Violet Baldwin, 10, whose talent was singing; Oscar Mirabile, 7, singing; Lydia Mitchell, 10, singing; Kayla Watts, 12, singing; and Kaylee Wayda, 11, who performed a ventriloquist act.

    All the contestants were interviewed before their talent performances.

    Emcees for the pageant were Ford Harris and Spencer Pottle, both former winners in the pageant.

    Judges were Katie Cunningham, Pnina Pangburn, Jessica Wagstaff Pinkham, Ntina Rigas and Julie Roberts.

    While the judges’ votes were being counted, there were three special performances. Josephine Shea, Top Royal 2022, sang and played guitar; Adeline Inman, Royal Windjammer 2023, and Imij Armstead, Top Royal 2023, both sang.

    All of the contestants were invited to ride in a float in the annual Windjammer Days Street Parade.
