Rev. Charles Carrick at Ocean Point Wilson Chapel June 30

Summer services at Wilson Memorial Chapel on Ocean Point will begin this Sunday, June 30! The Rev. Charles Carrick will lead the service. Jim Swist will serve as organist. The service is at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome!

Rev. Carrick is a graduate of Drexel University (1984, BS Computer Science) and Yale Divinity School (1987, Master of Divinity). He is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, having served churches in Pennsylvania for over 14 years. He served as the executive director of the Hazleton Enlarged Ministry, a cooperative ministry of 14 churches in the Greater Hazleton Area. In his last full-time appointment, Rev. Carrick served Conyngham, Pennsylvania, UMC for eight years.

Rev. Carrick is in his 26th year at Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School (Kingston, PA) serving as Chaplain. At Sem he is the math department chair and teaches AP Computer Science, Algebra II Honors, and STEM elective courses including Introduction to Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Submersibles, and Flight. Bible, World Religions, Moral Philosophy, Geometry, and Post-Apocalyptic Literature are some of the other courses that Rev. Carrick has taught. He has coached boys’ lacrosse and was head coach of Sem’s Upper School boys’ soccer team for 11 years. Soccer, snowboarding, skiing, and kayaking are sports passions.

Rev. Carrick and his wife, Jill Clay Carrick, have a home at Farnham Point. Jill serves as STEM Associate Director at Wyoming Seminary, works as part of the Climate Science and Sustainability team, and teaches middle school science and computer at Sem’s Lower School where she serves as science chair. The Carricks have a daughter, Grace, Wyoming Seminary Class of 2021, who attends Wilkes University where she majors in digital design and media art. Their son, Jordan, and his wife, Shani, live in San Diego, CA. Jordan is an aeronautical engineer at General Atomics.
