Maine becomes last New England state to release localized COVID-19 case data
AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has for the first time since the pandemic outbreak released COVID-19 confirmed and probable case data by ZIP code.
Until Wednesday, Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah had resisted numerous requests by media outlets around the state for data to be broken down by towns as other states across the nation do.

All county offices open to public
On June 1, the doors to all county government offices re-opened to public access. Lincoln County Administrator Carrie Kipfer reported offices are open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. UPDATED: Knox County records its first COVID-19 death
AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has announced, June 3, an additional COVID-19 death in the state, bringing the state’s COVID-19 death toll to 95.
The individual, a man in his 70s, was a resident of Knox County and marks the first death of a Knox County resident.
